Shropshire Mind is a local charity which works with volunteers to support people that experience mental or emotional illness. The charity helps to bridge the gap between illness and full independence, and can also put people in touch with expert advice on mental health issues.

Mayfair Community Centre is run by the Community for the Community. With the help of over 280 volunteers, they provide a wide range of support services and activities for people in the Strettons and surrounding areas.


Services Mayfair Community Centre provide include:

• Crèche

• Arts and crafts

• Exercise classes - including chair based yoga, Zumba, Extend, Tai Chi, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Yoga and strength conditioning

• Walking for Health - four walks a week at different levels

• Cafe

• Hot meal delivery service

• Day services for adults (2 hours or a whole day)

• Bathing and laundry services

• Help with computers - drop in and classes

• Wide range of complementary health services and therapies


The Centre is also a venue for several support groups: Cancer Care, Alzheimer’s Carers Group, Carers Group, Parkinson Disease Society, Stroke Group (Church Stretton) and Ring and Ride. 


Country Market which sells local produce takes place every Friday 9am to 11.30am.


Hairdresser available every Monday and Wednesday between 9am and 3pm.


Mayfair is situated in the heart of Church Stretton close to the shops and the Medical Centre and within easy reach of both the railway station and local bus services. They also have rooms for hire.

6-year-old Rupert has a crocodile in his tummy and is currently putting all his will and might into fighting it! At age 3 he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, and needs help raising £750,000 to fund his cancer treatment.
