Good question!  I was an accountant, then I went in to software consultancy and now I am a trying to tell the world that local skincare is the best!

In three words describe Elizabeth Beckett Skincare:

Effective, ethical and honest

 Elizabeth Beckett Skincare Ethics

How did your business start?

I was disillusioned with the skincare industry; it seemed to be surrounded by hype and advertising claiming to do all sorts wonderful things, all I wanted was healthy, supple, bright skin to grow old with me. I’d been making products for myself and gave some as Christmas gifts for friends and family. I also wanted to do something to support the local economy. Rapeseed oil was perfect; great on your skin, and locally produced... farm to face.

Have you got a favourite product? What do you love about it?

Yes, Facial Oil with Rose & Frankincense. Easy to use anywhere on your body, great smell!

What is your best-selling product?

Night and Day Cream with Rose and Frankincense

What do you love most about running your skincare business?

The best thing is customer feedback – where people with eczema and rosacea see results - Your skin is so important isn’t it?

It’s great working locally and getting involved in the community more (I used to be away from home a lot with work).

I love having the flexibility running your own business brings and it’s great to be creative with new skincare recipes, packaging the website etc

With all that has been achieved in your career so far, what are you most proud of?

Oh, I don’t know... having the confidence to set up on my own I guess and getting a beautiful product to market.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone thinking of starting their own skincare business?

Make sure you love it and never give up.

What are your plans for your business this year?

I’d like to get the product into more shops and therapists this year and develop the website
