An Interview with: Chocolicious

Name: Rebecca McQuilkin
Occupation: Chocolatier

In three words describe your business:
Quality handmade chocolates

How did your business start? What inspired you?
I wanted to do something that I enjoy and that I could share with my family. We all love chocolate and my friends and family love me making it.

Who is your business hero/heroine? Who do you look up to?
Local chocolatier Melanie Fallon is an  inspiration to me, I have spent time with her and she is always generous with her time and is full of enthusiasm.

What is your best-selling product? Why do you think this is?
I have only sold at one event and the bestselling product was the chocolate slabs, I think this is recognisable to people and it’s appealing to chocolate lovers as it’s a pure bar of solid chocolate!

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I would be very happy to see my products in some reputable shops and Chocolicious to represent good quality and creative ideas.

How are you looking to grow your business in the next year?
I would like to explore all options and hopefully get a feel for what would suit my products and explore these avenues, I’m hoping more events and social media together will give me the platform to showcase my products and gain experience to move forward effectively.

What is your favourite product you have ever created?
I’ve only created a few but my favourite to date are the Christmas mice.
