Champion & Reeves collaboration with Meg Hawkins and Matt Mills

Three brilliant independent Shropshire businesses have joined forces recently to create an exciting new product, showing the power of collaboration.
Luxury confectionary producers Champion & Reeves, based in Shrewsbury, started this project in February 2019. Their delicious nougat and butterscotch can be found across the UK, including in London store, Partridges of Kensington. During a meeting they were asked whether they could produce chocolates in celebration of the Chelsea Flower Show.
Champion & Reeves then developed the range, using four flavours: Rose Gin, Marzipan, Almond Croquant and Champagne. The chocolate box has been produced in either dark chocolate or milk chocolate.
The packaging needed to look beautiful to complement the fabulous handcrafted chocolates inside – this is where the collaboration with Shropshire based artist Meg Hawkins came in. Jacqueline Champion of Champion & Reeves said “I have admired Meg’s work since we first met several years ago and I have some of her wonderful prints. I believe in working with local businesses as much as possible. Having seen the beautiful designs that Meg creates, I was confident that she would be able to draw flowers that would represent the chocolates that we were creating”.
Once the chocolates were developed and the flowers painted, this needed to be pulled together into the full design. Shropshire based graphic designer Matthew Mills transformed both aspects into the packaging that you can buy today.
From the concept, to making it happen… you can grab your box of chocolates in a Partridges store or on their website at www.partridges.co.uk.
Jacqueline Champion said “Champion & Reeves are looking at further collaboration with Meg Hawkins for future gift projects – watch this space!”
Here at Buy-From Shropshire we think this collaboration is a brilliant example of when we all work together, amazing things happen!
