This jewel is Shropshire’s county town and stands proud in a loop of the beautiful River Severn. It has been judged to be the UK’s ‘8th happiest place to live’ and it’s not hard to see why. The river is so much a part of Shrewsbury’s character as it winds it way throughout the town. See it as it best on a river cruise.
And …you can never escape the town’s rich historical past and nor would you want to. From its 11th Century Castle, medieval alleyways and well-preserved
Tudor buildings, and its intriguing churches and abbey, this is a fascinating town just to wander around.
With expansive and beautiful riverside and garden retreats, it is also a bustling shopping centre. The best of all worlds.
