Market Drayton

Set in the centre of Shropshire’s dairy country, close to the Staffordshire border, and sitting right on the River Tern and
the Shropshire Union Canal is Market Drayton.  These waterways are a centre for many activities.
This attractive country town was once a Saxon settlement, and its history can be traced through its mix of half timbered,
Georgian and Victorian architecture. Even more intriguing are nearby ancient sites including Neolithic Standing Stones.

It is also an area renowned for brewing -  so visit the welcoming pubs and inns to sample the excellent local brew.

There are also some wonderful gardens in this area of north Shropshire, including the Dorothy Clive Garden and Hodnet Hall Gardens.
