This lovely medieval town on the banks of the River Severn is a joy for the visitor. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has a
rich history  stretching from the Danes, through the Civil War, to its Georgian and Victorian heydays, with so much surviving architecture to marvel at.
Nowadays, it is still a real pleasure to visit, offering boating experiences on the river, its funicular railway linking High Town and Low Town, its
Castle with its incredible leaning tower and, of course, it is the home of the Severn Valley Railway.  There’s no better way to enjoy the scenery and
villages of this exceptional area than by a journey on the magnificent steam railway.

Don’t forget Bridgnorth’s markets every Saturday, plus its Farmers Market. And it boasts many wonderful independent shops,
quirky tea rooms and fascinating antique shops. Bridgnorth was voted ‘Best Large Market Town’ in 2017. Come and find out why.
