Clun
Clun

‘The quietest place under the sun’, to
quote A E Housman in his famous poem, ‘A Shropshire Lad’.
Clun is small, picture postcard perfect
and it’s where you can escape totally from modern day hustle and bustle.
You will love the 15th
Century Packhorse Bridge which crosses the River Clun and divides the town into
its ancient part to the south and its ‘newer’ part to the north – which is
Norman and home to
the fascinating ruins of the Norman Castle. Follow the Clun Heritage Trail to make sure
you miss nothing.
At the Clun Museum there’s much to learn
about this ancient place and the surrounding area, from Offa’s Dyke to the Bury
Ditches Hillfort.
Don’t miss this idyllic spot or the rest
of the beautiful Clun Valley.
